Overview

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in peoples lives in your community by providing treatment for behavioral health and substance abuse? Do you possess a Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology or Clinical Social Work? Are you licensed as a LISAC? If so, we have an exciting opportunity at our Tucson West office. As a Clinician II, you will conduct client substance abuse and mental health intakes, screenings and assessments. You will develop client treatment plans, coordinate client treatment services and track, record and report client progress. You will also serve as a representative of TASC in court hearings.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Conducts clinical substance abuse and mental health screenings and assessments with program clients.
  • Develops client-centered treatment plans for and with the assistance of program clients.
  • Plans and carries out individual, couples, family and group counseling services for program clients.
  • Assists in scheduling clients for appointments and maintaining clinical schedule
  • Performs case management tasks necessary, such as conducting client interviews that assist in determining client program eligibility, scheduling client screenings and assessments, facilitating client intakes and recording, tracking and reporting pertinent client information.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of clients on caseload.
  • Schedules and monitors urinalysis

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, or Justice Studies with focus on clinical counseling.
  2. Two years of fulltime direct practice experience in working with criminal justice/substance-abuse/mental health population. One year of direct treatment counseling preferred.
  3. Licensure (e.g., LISAC).
  4. Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health counseling theory and techniques.
  5. Ability to effectively use DSM V terminology and full Axis I -V diagnosis.
  6. Must be able to work weekends and evenings. Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday.
  7. Must be able to demonstrate good writing and verbal communication skills.
  8. Must be able to effectively communicate to a variety of treatment and criminal justice professionals, in order to effectively coordinate the client’s care.
  9. Must be able to competently demonstrate individual, family and group therapeutic skills.
  10. Must be able to demonstrate competent assessment skills.
  11. Must be able to integrate knowledge of substance abuse and mental health treatment into effective therapeutic practice on both an individual and group basis.
  12. Must be able to utilize a variety of theoretical and treatment techniques in providing counseling and treatment to substance involved individuals including those involved in the justice system.
  13. Must be able to perform a variety of case management tasks and duties within the framework of stated TASC programs and agency policy and procedures.
  14. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse populations with co-occurring diagnoses.
  15. Must pass criminal background check and must pass urinalysis drug screen.
  16. Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  17. Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions.
  • Must possess the ability to utilize visual and auditory senses to complete all job duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work in a typical office and healthcare environment.
