Overview

TASC believes our employees are the foundation of our organization. Our success depends on our employee's ability to help those in the communities we serve by offering substance abuse counseling, case management and behavioral health counseling. We have an exciting opportunity and are looking for a Psychologist at our Salt Lake City office. This position is responsible for administering, evaluating and interpreting psychological and IQ testing for TASC clients. The psychologist will consult with the treatment team regarding administered tests as part of a collaborative therapeutic effort.

Responsibilities

 RESPONSIBILITES

  • Conducts and completes program specific written evaluations, including comprehensive record reviews and psychological and IQ testing. Provides integrated and comprehensive clinical conceptualizations and formulates diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual-5 (DSM-5).
  • Collects and analyzes behavioral and cognitive data and writes psychological testing reports to be included as part of the client’s treatment plan. Documents progress/data, utilizing objective, measurable methods. Completes testing reports that will be included in the medical record within fourteen days of testing.
  • Consults and acts as part of the multidisciplinary TASC treatment team and displays excellent work habits (e.g., provides exceptional service, attendance and promptness at work, timeliness in completing work).
  • Interacts with clients and families and conducts psychological and IQ testing from a strengths-based perspective, with the emphasis in having understanding for diversity and culture.

  • Participates in the development of recommendations that are strengths-based and individualized based on evaluation results, with an emphasis on independence in the community with wraparound supports wherever possible.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns, family dynamics, and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention.
  • Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols on an “on-call” basis.
  • Meets required job specific competencies for assigned unit, including mandatory educational requirements.  Maintains professional growth and development to stay current on the latest trends related to position.  Complies with policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, attendance, sexual harassment, reports of abuse, dress code, corporate compliance, confidentiality and others.
  • Makes recommendations in accordance with best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of court processes and protocols, internal and external levels of care and referral processes and community resources.
  • Communicates, orally and in writing, in a positive, effective manner with clients, and all internal and external providers, maintaining a positive and supportive attitude in the process.
  • Meets direct service productivity goals and evaluation deadlines as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and data collection/reporting protocols.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. Possesses a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology.
  2. Possesses current licensure as a Psychologist in good standing with the State of Utah.
  3. Has two years of direct practice experience in psychological test administration.
  4. Knowledgeable in substance abuse and mental health counseling theory and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
  5. Has comprehensive understanding of the DSM-5 and an ability to use DSM-5 terminology.
  1. Ability to effectively communicate to a variety of treatment and criminal justice professionals and clientele.
  1. Ability to demonstrate competent assessment skills, including criminal evaluation skills.
  2. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including those with co-occurring diagnoses.
  1. Ability to perform Psychological and IQ testing for diverse populations, including those with co-occurring diagnoses.
  2. Ability to provide Psychological and IQ testing for individuals and families.
  3. Ability to utilize a variety of theory and treatment techniques in providing testing/consultation to substance using individuals, including those involved in the justice system.
  4. Ability to write and communicate proficiently, make sound decisions regarding TASC client needs, analyze and problem solve sufficiently and practice ethical conduct
  5. Ability to perform duties within the framework of stated TASC programs and agency policy and procedures.
  1. Experience with electronic health record keeping systems desirable.
  2. Experience in billing and documentation with Medicaid preferred.
  3. Must pass criminal background checks, both by TASC and any referring agency if necessary.
  4. Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  5. Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  6. Must pass a urinalysis test.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions.

  • Must have good writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Must possess the ability to utilize visual and auditory senses to complete all job duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to work in a typical office and healthcare environment.
