    Are you looking for a position in a laboratory environment where you can use your skills and knowledge? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! As a Laboratory Specimen Processor, you will be responsible for all specimen preparation and data entry for the Lab Technologists. This opportunity is from 10pm to 6am and is full-time.     Responsibilities

    •  Responsible for accessioning of specimens received into the laboratory from all areas.
    •  Responsible for data entry of hand labels.
    •  Responsible for bar-coding of specimens.
    •  Pipetting of specimens to be assayed. Names are to be checked against specimen during process.
    •  Tasks are to be performed in such order as to continue the workload of the technologist at all times, if possible.
    •  Responsible for updating incoming accessioners of all pertinent information regarding current tasks being performed.
    •  Perform send outs.
    •  Perform banking process.
    •  Maintain personal and professional confidentiality at all times.
    •  Maintain courteous and professional relationships with coworkers and supervisors.
    •  Assist in personnel shortages as needed.
    •  Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    1. High school degree or equivalent preferred. Previous laboratory work helpful but not required

    2. Experience with computers using windows is helpful.

    3. Able to handle high work volume accurately at a fast pace and to work independently of supervision.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

     Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to 20 pounds.

     Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.

     Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions.

     Must possess the ability to utilize visual and auditory senses to complete all job duties as assigned.

     Must be able to work in a typical office and healthcare environment.
