  • Overview

    Under the direct supervision of the TASC Clinical Director, the Clinician Level 1 (BHT) is responsible for case management and treatment counseling for a caseload of program clients. Performs tasks required to screen clients relative to program eligibility requirements, conducts intakes on new clients, conducts ongoing interviews, develops client service plans, and coordinates services provided to the client, tracks/records and reports on client progress. Conducts chemical substance abuse and mental health assessments and provides individual, family and group treatment. Serves as a representative in court hearings and meetings with organizations external to TASC relative to specific clients. Carries out delegated administrative duties as required to ensure efficient and effective client service delivery.




    • Conducts clinical assessments of client substance use/abuse and mental health issues, develops treatment plans.
    • Plans and carries out individual, family and group counseling treatment.
    • Performs case management tasks necessary to scheduling and conducting interviews, determining client program eligibility, screening of clients, client intakes and tracking/recording and reporting on client progress.
    • Maintains accurate and complete records of clients on caseload.
    • Schedules and/or attends upon request/subpoena court hearings and other meetings with other individuals/organizations relative to the client's treatment.
    • Attends scheduled clinical supervision conferences and counseling meetings for information exchange, case reviews and client treatment.
    • Assists immediate supervisor in performance of delegated special assignment duties.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    3. A minimum of 1 – 2 years of full-time behavioral health work experience is required.
    4. The combination of academic achievement and fulltime behavioral health work experience must total 6 years.
    5. Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health counseling theory and techniques.
    6. Ability to obtain licensure (LSAT or LBSW) within six months of hiring; obtaining licensure is mandatory.
    7. Must be able to demonstrate good writing and verbal communication skills.
    8. Must be able to effectively communicate to a variety of treatment and criminal justice professionals, in order to effectively coordinate the client’s care.
    9. Must be able to competently demonstrate individual, family and group therapeutic skills.
    10. Must be able to demonstrate competent assessment skills.
    11. Must be able to integrate knowledge of substance abuse and mental health treatment into effective therapeutic practice on both an individual and group basis.
    12. Must be able to utilize a variety of theoretical and treatment techniques in providing counseling and treatment to substance involved individuals including those involved in the justice system.
    13. Must be able to perform a variety of case management tasks and duties within the framework of stated TASC programs and agency policy and procedures.
    14. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse populations with co-occurring diagnoses.
    15. Must pass criminal background check.
    16. Must pass urinalysis drug screen.
    17. Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
    18. Must pass TB testing.
    19. Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.



    • Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to 20 pounds.
    • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
    • Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions.
    • Must possess the ability to utilize visual and auditory senses to complete all job duties as assigned.
    • Must be able to work in a typical office and healthcare environment.
