  • Overview

    The Controller is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of TASC. This includes, but is not limited to the development of a financial and operational strategy and its associated performance metrics, and the ongoing development of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.     Responsibilities

    OPERATIONS

    1. Manage fixed assets, cash flow management, journal entries, bank and account reconciliations
    2. Implement operational best practices; maintain proper accounting controls and safeguarding of assets
    3. Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems
    4. Maintain relationships with all banking and investment companies
    5. Review all contracts entered into by the organization
    6. Contribute in key decision making to the Board of Directors and Executive Management Team
    7. Serve as an active member of the Quality Assurance Committee

     

    FINANCIALS

    1. Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements
    2. Assist with monthly and quarterly financial statements with CEO and department heads
    3. Routinely provide financial reports to the Board of Directors

    FUNDING

    1. Perform all treasury management functions including maintain adequate cash reserves, balances and cash forecasts
    2. Manage investments and company compliance with Board approved investment policies
    3. Act as the trustee for the 401K plan and administer other retirement plans

     

    PLANNING

    1. Actively participate in strategic planning and direction of the organization
    2. Manage agency and departmental budget processes and capital requests
    3. Assist Executive team with monitoring and implementation of strategic business plans
    4. Develop key performance metrics to support the execution of the company’s short and long-term strategic plans

     

    RISK MANAGEMENT

    1. Manage audits and tax return preparation including overseeing preparation of all requested items by outside certified public accounting companies and government agencies
    2. Maintain appropriate insurance policies and coverage
    3. Ensure compliance to all local, county, state and federal legal and regulatory requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Desired Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration; minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field required  **Primary Source Verification Required**
    2. Preference given to candidates with MBA in Finance and Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations
    3. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in progressive accounting duties
    4. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in budget preparation and financial statement analyses
    5. Preference given to candidates with experience working for non-profit 501(c)(3) agencies
    6. Must possess public and commercial insurance revenue cycle management experience
    7. Grant accounting experience preferred
    8. Must pass criminal background check
    9. Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
    10. Must pass pre-employment drug urinalysis test and TB test
    11. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

     

    Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, sit, stand and walk for periods of time. Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to 30 pounds.

     

    Must have excellent communication and writing skills. Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions. Must have fine vision, sustained vision, and peripheral vision.  Must possess sufficient eye/hand coordination to operate office equipment including, but not limited to, phone, computer, calculator, copier or typewriter, and vehicle, if applicable.

     

    Office and home settings with varying degrees of background noise. Lighting and ventilation vary according to location.  All facilities are non-smoking.  Hazards may exist if the employee fails to use proper body mechanics when lifting.
